Photographing Puppy Love

Since many people asked about the recent puppy images, we thought we’d post a couple of short videos of the photo session. Yes, it takes at least 2 people to get a 9-week old puppy in a bucket/jar. Enjoy!

And here are the results:

Here’s the green bucket, which was very interesting!

Laurie A Weaver Photography is becoming Treetales Photography

Welcome to Treetales Photography Blog.

More than a name change from Laurie A Weaver Photography to Treetales Photography, this re-branding of my business grows from the past few years of learning and understanding, of seeing things from the perspective of some amazing people, my clients.

My passion for photography began to focus around the connections people have with their loved ones and their pets.  People began to share their stories and show me old photographs, carefully framed and displayed in their new baby’s nursery.  Couples embraced their individual histories and began new legacies with children and furry loved ones.  In time, we would see them again, when a new baby arrived or a new puppy, and hear new stories and document their latest tales…or tails!

And I met the Warriors, so many people, fighting such fierce battles with determined resolution and bravery. To be near them is humbling and inspiring.  It changes lives.  It changed my direction.

Circumstance can redefine a family photography session when you know it may be the last images of an ill family member.  Or perhaps it becomes a farewell to a long-loved pet.  And how precious of a treasure is a print of your family if it’s the only photograph you’ve ever owned?  I met so many families in Ethiopia who wanted only shoes for their babies and a picture to keep forever.

The only print this father has ever owned

Most of the clients we work with are blessed with healthy, loved families full of kids who refuse to wear mom’s favorite outfit or who manage to find the bag of orange-powdered Cheetos in the back of the car on the way to the photo shoot.  Your dog may be crazy but she has you watching out for her.

TreeTales Photography’s mission is to create natural, genuine images of the relationships defining your life.  We listen.  We take our time.  We love what we are doing.

Our mission is also to support a variety of warriors working daily to make us all proud to be humans.  A portion of each photography session channels back to a warrior.  To me, it seems like a tree, your family’s deep, stable roots, branching out across the city or around the world to connect with another family or a pet in need.

That’s where the name comes from.  Well, that and we’re hoping to build a treehouse studio on our beautiful property.  More later on that craziness.

We promise to post stories of our warriors and their efforts and we would be honored to post your lovely family images right alongside them.
